Lights on the Roof 2025

You of course know us as the rooftop garden club, but we also pride ourselves in hosting concerts to close off each semester. At the end of every first term, that’s Lights on the Roof!

Planning for this Lights on the Roof started all the way back in September. Seeing the months of late-night meetings, shared docs, and endless back-and-forth emails finally come together in one night felt surreal. On the day, our team was up on the rooftop early in the day getting everything set up. When people really started arriving, the whole space just came alive.

We invite participants to make their own teabags, with loose teas like hibiscus and caramel creme. Everyone also got to take home their own custom origami bookmarks, decorated as mushrooms and flowers.

Thanks to Agora Cafe, we had the cutest selection of desert bites that added the perfect touch to the evening (and they disappeared very quickly). They were accompanied by our hot apple cider and hot cocoa, to keep everyone warm in the chilly weather.

And of course, the music. Our lineup of four incredible bands was the heart of the night. Thank you to Bacchanal, Wishbone, Plow, and Sultry for playing great music. Much appreciation as well for Blank Vinyl Project, who help us bring such amazing talent to the roof each year :)

As a club, we care deeply about giving back to the community (that’s you guys!). Whether it’s in the form of fresh produce or free concerts, you’ll keep seeing us around — that’s a Roots on the Roof promise.

See you on the roof,
Khadija
