Pumpkin Faces & Squash Butter
This fall, we hosted a Pumpkin Carving and Squash Butter Workshop with our friends at Sprouts Cafe. Attendees made squash butter, and carved pumpkins in anticipation of Halloween…
All of the squash for this workshop were grown right in our own garden :) We love the striking orange colour that red kuri squashes develop, and garden team has been full of anticipation all season, waiting for them to fully ripen.

The event itself was quite relaxing. Participants got pumpkins, carved whatever they wished, and chatted with the folks around them. Some pumpkins were impressively artistic, and others had… great personalities we’re sure. We think it was a lot of fun!

Sprouts allowed us into their kitchen to make squash butter, and a lot of people were surprised by how simple the process is. Watching everyone taste it, and then immediately go back for more, was a highlight. We did end up burning a couple batches of pumpkin seeds, but there were plenty good ones left over to snack on!

This workshop reminded us of what it’s all about; staying connected to our food and where it comes from, sharing skills, and spending time with awesome people.
