Roots on the Roof

Welcome to Roots on the Roof

Roots on the Roof is a student-led AMS club at UBC, working to connect students with how our food is grown through hands-on learning in our rooftop garden space.

Centered around our rooftop garden on top of the AMS Student Nest, the club creates opportunities for students to engage with sustainable food production. Hosting garden work, educational programming, and advocacy initiatives. Whether you’re planting your first seed, attending a workshop, or joining a conversation about food security, there’s a place for you in our community.

Our regular volunteer drop-in hours are open to all students and community members. These times consist of educational programming and work in the garden, which may include planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting. We do anything you may expect from a garden… and more!
